Is This Just Another “Lose Weight Quick Plan?”

    I like the goals you are talking about. A life change. I do believe in diets if they are working but they have to lead to a life change and a better and healthier life.




    After thinking about the areas your website covers it occurred to me that you might want to add another category: “Reducing Stress without Stress.” Almost all the stress reduction advice tends to ADD to a person’s stress because it entails methods that require time and effort that is already lacking in the person’s life. Just a thought – I hope it’s helpful. Gene

    I had a four-day weekend for the 4th of July.
    I didn’t exercise except for walking for all four days. No jogging, no LL 15/15.
    I was off ETL for Saturday & Sunday, two days of Cheat Meals. I got that out of my system.
    I’m back on ETL strict for the next Six weeks.

        Can’t wait to start tomorrow. I have a family reunion schedule for July 3-5 weekend. We will be observing (Ramadan) eating only when sun is down. So we will have Breakfast early early morning and dinner late late evenings. I hate to cook so I want to do with with not a lot of cooking. I can’t find my book- I think I loaned it out to someone. I must rely on the internet now.

          I think you would be much better off starting ETL after your family reunion.
          Breakfast for me is usually around 11 AM and it’s fruit, whatever looks the best to me that day. I try to have berries every day and right now the prices on strawberries, blueberries, raspberries are very good. Today it was a pint of Blueberries and five Peaches.

          Dinner was at 6 PM and I had My Big Salad, and I do mean a whole head of Green Leafy Lettuce, Celery, Onion, Cucumber, Tomatoes and My Salad Dressing. 20 minutes after finishing my salad I was still just a little hungry so I had Black Beans with Salsa, Asparagus and Mushrooms from yesterday and 1/2 of an Avocado.

          8 PM, I’ll have a handful of Pumpkin Seeds and some Cantaloupe.

          I had all of my Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds covered.

          “Can we drink Almond Milk in protein shake?”

          Not and stay strict on “Eat To Live”.

            Joyce, I watched Dr. Fuhrman’s “Eat To Live” PBS tv show and it all made sense to me. I never doubted for one second I could do it.

            Start by watching the videos with your husband, and see if it makes as much sense to you as it did to me. Take notes as you watch and ask me anything you like. You don’t have to decide to do anything right now.

            I’d watch the videos, read the book ask me whatever and then decide. Whatever you decide is what’s right for you.

            Please keep in mind I went on ETL for my health, the weight loss was just a pleasant upside. I lost 27 pounds in six weeks and 60 pounds in four months. I’m not always strict on ETL, but it’s the way I’ll eat for the rest of my life.

    How great with someone who doesn’t promise that you can lose 50 lbs in 3 weeks and eat everything you want or something! By now we all should be aware of that what we put in our bodies is what determines our weight.
    When the body gets the nutrition it needs you don’t have to give it more, but when the food we eat lacks necessary nutrition our bodies crave more, so healthy food equals healthy bodies.

      I’m in the process of writing a review of my experience with Metabo379, I should have it published later today.
      I would say that Metabo379 performed way above my expectations. It got me over a weight loss plateau. It helped me lose 5.8 pounds when I was basically stalled.
      I would have been pleased with just one pound a week.
      What have your results been?

    This is a great site. I also discovered recently that it is not on how much you eat but more on what kind foods you eat. I will absolutely stop by more in future as this absolutely a topic I am very interested in. I also like that you do not just promote that it is all about food but also sports to keep your body healthy.

    This one was my favorite reads, because you brought up a great point about diet. If they worked we wouldn’t be here.

    Eating right is important. I know I’ve been eating a bunch of bad stuff for the past two weeks and it doesn’t make me feel any better, in fact it makes me feel worse.

    If I had taken the time to eat healthy foods even when I’m feeling bad, I probably wouldn’t have put on the weight.

    So what I gotta do is eat the correct foods period. There’s no need to put on the pounds because I’m a little blue or stress. That’s just being silly. Thanks for this wonderful post. You shed some light on my life. 🙂

      Evelyn, it’s what you’re eating that’s making you feel bad.
      I just posted a blog exactly on that subject.

      I’m sorry, but I do have a problem with, “If I had taken the time to eat healthy foods…” how much time do you think it takes?
      I can prepare my side dishes for the week in under 30 minutes, and then it’s just takes a few minutes to heat up for lunch or dinner. The alternative is eating “Junk Food!” That is simply not an option for me.

      I’d rather go hungry until I do have time to eat healthy.

      Thanks Tom, I can only help people that want help and that I have answers for. My answer may not be everybodies way of solving these problems, but I know they work. I can also write with some conviction on these subjects, because I live with them on a daily basis and I have for years. I don’t have all of the answers, but I certainly know where to look to get those answers, or bring in somebody with more expertise than I have.

      The books and products I recommend I have personal experience with. I wouldn’t know how to do it any other way.

      I have never, nor do I imagine I ever would take any Diet Pills. In fact the only pills I take is Aspirin and a Multi vitamin.

      First of all it’s Neuro-Linguistic Programming (not Nero).
      I first learned about NLP in Anthony Robbins ‘Personal Power’, but I don’t remember any connection to diet or supplements, although there certainly could be. If I remember correctly Tony’s eating plan was to eat what thin people eat. All in all not a bad plan.

      I’ve been living my life conducting an ‘Experiment of One’. I write and make recommendations on what has worked for me personally. But, these are not concepts I’ve developed myself, but tried and true books and products used by thousands. What I add to the mix is my personal assurance that if somebody takes my advice, the results are not only possible, but actually EZ to duplicate.

      Diabetes, runs in my mother’s family and Lung Cancer on my fathers side. I learned through Dr Fuhrman that both can be prevented through ‘Eat To Live’. Losing weight on the program was just a side benefit. I know from visiting your website this subject is near and dear to your heart. Here’s hoping we can change some lives through spreading the message, that you can eat your way to health.

      Bill, you are absolutely correct. What we believe is what we can achieve. It all starts by what we tell ourselves on a daily basis. Why anyone that desires to make a change would tell themselves it’s going to be hard is beyond me.

      There is nothing hard about following ‘Eat To Live’ or the ‘Easy Way To Stop Smoking’ it’s EZ. Once begun and soon done.

I decided I want to see how I could live longer and healthier. It was an EZ choice. What made it even easier was I feel like I haven’t had to give up anything. I eat wonderful food, as much as I want, I’m never hungry. What’s not to like?

  32. Phil, again…great information! You helped me with my back pain. Your tips helped but I don’t always do my stretching twice a day so it’s my fault. But I feel great while doing them. Now I read about this Eat To Live Program. What is it exactly? I am not overweight at all but I do see small changes in my overall appearance as I am getting older. I have a poor diet! I drink a whole pot of coffee every morning and eat only once per day. If I am around snacks, I gobble them up but I can go without. I do eat a lot of candy and sweets. I don’t make a lot of time so what can you suggest that’s fast and easy? You are like my personal physician. I look forward to your response. As always, thank you for your help! Can I actually do the Eat To Live Program?

      Hey Deidre, I’ve been waiting for you. So, the back is feeling a little better? I don’t have to tell you that you’re responsible for taking care of you.

      ‘Eat To Live’ is a program by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I started it as a program to eat healthy to live longer. Mostly to prevent Cancer and Diabetes, which run in my family. As a result from being on the program I lost 60 pounds.

      If you don’t need to lose weight, you should still try the program and incorporate as much as you can.
      How much nutrition comes from in coffee, snacks, candy and sweets? That’s what you’re asking your body to run on.

      If you’re only eating one meal a day, at least make that meal healthy. Check out ‘What I Eat” and see how that would work for that one meal a day.

      Come back, read some more. Do whatever is in your comfort range. Even small changes can add up.

    I have adopted the “diet” recommended by Michael Mosely of the BBC which is in fact not a diet at all, but a lifestyle change and works admirably for me.


    I have lost 15KG and have kept it off!
    I enjoy my food much more these days
    Its really intermittent fasting and is not a fad but is based on sound scientific research and probably dovetails well with your approach.

      Arthur, congratulations, I’m glad you’ve found something to work for you. I hope it’s something you can stay with forever. I have of course heard of intermittent fasting. I have gone on fasts of up to three days. But, I’m more about eating more of the right foods, rather than eating less.

      What has a great deal of benefit for me is My One Cheat Meal a Week, which satisfies any cravings that might be building up. As well as preventing the body from going into ‘Starvation Mode’ where it thinks that times are hard and it’s time to hold on to fat stores.

      There’s lots of ways to lose weight. The secret of course is keeping it off.

  34. OK you have me hooked. Now I have to read the rest of your site. Losing weight used to be easy for me but now I find it much more difficult. Do you suppose it might have something to do with bad eating habits?

      Glenda, I think it’s eating habits and our body changing over time. What we got away with when we were younger we can’t get away with any more. We’ve got to learn to adjust.

      The transition for me to the Eat To Live program was amazingly simple. The first six weeks were the strictest and supposed to be the hardest. For me it wasn’t. The weight came off so quick. I was never hungry. I loved what I was eating. It was a joy, it still is.

      Twenty pounds the first six weeks on average.

      I hope if you join me it will be a joy for you as well.

      What part if any, do you see as being a problem?
