The Top Weight Loss Myths and Outright Lies!
Why would somebody lie to you about losing weight? Because there’s a profit to be made by keeping you fat, unhappy and sick. By the Food industry, the Weight Loss industry, by your doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, drug companies, etc. They look at you like livestock with a credit card, just to be fattened up, and milked until you die.
There’s No Profit in teaching you how to eat smart. There’s no program or membership to be sold to tell you to walk 30 minutes a day. When you eat your way to your ideal body weight, your illnesses go away.
You don’t need the medications you take now, and your doctor doesn’t get to see you as often. Good for you, bad for them. What Do They Want You To Believe?
- You need to Eat Less and Exercise More.
If you’re going to continue to eat the Standard American Diet (SAD) you’ve probably already tried eating less and exercising more if it worked you wouldn’t be reading this now, would you?
Eating less doesn’t work. The reason, you aren’t satisfied, you’re hungry, you can’t keep doing that forever, eventually, you’re going to want/have to eat. It’s like trying to breath less.
When you do you’re probably going to overeat. After another failed attempt at eat less exercise more, you’ll probably put back on all the weight you lost plus another couple of pounds for good measure.
What do I suggest? Eat More of the Right Food G.B.O.M.B.S. If you even think you’re hungry Eat More. You’ll never be hungry and the weight will come off easily.
- Exercise is the #1 Way to Lose Weight
Where is this lie coming from? Well, who is trying to sell you exercise equipment, gym memberships, who makes money from you wanting to exercise to lose weight? Magazines, exercise programs…etc.
What do I say?
Exercise is a distant #2 for losing weight. Losing weight is 80% Diet and only 20% Exercise. Ask yourself, is it easier to not eat a slice of bread or run a mile? They both work out to be about 100 calories. It’s much EZer to eat smarter.
But, exercise is good for you. Start by going for a nice walk, try five minutes out and five minutes back. Move up to 10 mins out and back and then 15 mins. Now, you’re up to 30 minutes a day. Can’t do 30 minutes in one shot, do 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes before lunch, 10 minutes before or after dinner. More is fine, but you don’t have to go crazy.
- It’s Hard to Lose Weight it takes Willpower and Commitment
It’s not hard it’s EZ. Even if it was hard, what advantage would there be to telling yourself it was hard?
Trust me if it was hard, I would have never done it.
It doesn’t take willpower or commitment unless you think you’re giving up something. You’re giving up NOTHING! You’re getting the best body of your life and extending that life disease free. Is that something worth going for?
- You have to give up stuff you love.
You’re giving up NOTHING! You will have to eat smarter. You’re not going to be able to eat garbage at every meal, but you can eat whatever you want. In Moderation.
I eat anything I want One Meal A Week. Some weeks I don’t even have my Cheat Meal, there’s just no need. I eat that good every day. You can too.
- You need to drink more Water.
You know when I was a kid, water was free from the kitchen faucet or the garden hose. Nobody ever said I needed so much water a day. It was Milk I needed, 3 glasses of Milk a day. So said the Dairy Industry… what a surprise!
Who do you think wants you to buy more bottles of water? Have you ever bought Evian, do you know what it spells backward?
What do I say?
When you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables you’re already getting a lot of water in what you eat. If you get thirsty, have a drink of water. You don’t have to carry a 2 liter bottle with you, unless you’re crossing the Sahara.
- You need to drink Milk, eat yogurt, have dairy.
Yes, you need to drink more milk if you’re a calf that you’re trying to fatten up for slaughter. Yogurt, cheese, butter, dairy… save it for your Cheat meal, not an everyday thing.
- You need to eat more/less red meat.
Eat less, red meat, pink meat, white meat. Keeping it to less than 12 ounces a week is probably the most healthy thing you can do.
From the book “The Blue Zones Solution” the people that live the longest don’t eat a lot of meat. If you want to be rich, do what the rich people do. If you want to live longer and healthier, do what the people who are living longer do.
- You need to count, Calories, Carbs, Protein. You need to weigh your portions

- You need to eat several small meals a day so you’re never hungry.
I have tried eating every couple of hours, with a snack between meals, and I have lost weight. What I believe is more effective when you’re trying to lose weight is to eat more during Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and don’t snack between meals.
The theory is from Dr. Fuhrman in ‘Eat To Live’ he suggests that waiting several hours between meals allows the body to burn fat more effectively. If you’re eating too often the body never goes into the state of burning fat.
What do I suggest?
If you’re hungry eat. On ‘Eat To Live’ you’re going to lose weight. You’ll be less likely to overeat and less likely to get hungry.

For Healthiest and Fastest way to lose weight for me would be the combination of ‘Eat to Live’ and Intermittent Fasting and just 2 meals a day and NO SNACKS!
So, where do these Top Weight Loss Myths come from? They come from companies that feed off of your misery. They succeed when you fail. They don’t want you at your ideal weight and disease free. I do, and I hope you do as well.
