What Foods Are Natural Diuretics and how to use them to your benefit?
Salt, sugar and often inadequate protein in the diet can cause the body to retain considerable fluids. They may lead to inflammation, bloating and water retention, and tens of pounds of excess weight. Foods are Natural Diuretics that can be used to shed that weight quick.
Very often the first ten or fifteen pounds you lose when you start a new diet are waste and water. After that initial loss of fluids, the weight loss slows down or stops when you’re really getting down to losing fat. The fat comes off a lot slower.
When you’re on a Diet, that you know you will not be able to stay on long term, you are from the beginning doomed to failure and the search for the next miracle diet begins again.
For long term success, you can’t think of a Diet as something you jump on and off like an amusement park ride. You need to lose the concept of Diet and Dieting. You need to start thinking of making lifestyle changes and stop living to eat and start to Eat To Live.
Eat To Live is mostly healthy Fruits and Vegetables all with high water content. If you want to lose weight fast then you want to shed excess water and these are the foods you should be eating.
How Fast Can You Put On Weight?
I was just about to finish a cycle of the Eat To Live Six Week program. I stopped three days early and just under two pounds away from my goal of 20 pounds for the six weeks. My wife wanted a pizza from a new pizza place that just opened up. I wanted a Cheat Weekend so I could start a new cycle of ETL 6 weeks with a friend of mine, who was going to try the program for the first time.
Friday night my wife and I split a pizza, she had wine, and I had a beer. Four slices of pizza put four pounds on me. The whole weekend of cheating cost me more than ten pounds.
Some people would freak if they got on the scale Monday morning and they were ten pounds heavier. I didn’t freak because I knew it wasn’t fat. What went on fast would come off fast. Pro boxers can put on 10 pounds or more overnight between weigh in and round one.
Pro Boxing Weight Divisions
I started off 2015 as a Heavyweight over 200 lbs. I believe my ideal weight would be Super Welterweight / Junior Middleweight 154 lbs.
On Saturday June 6, 2015 I watched the Miguel Cotto vs. Daniel Geale middleweight fight on HBO. I took particular notice at the Tale Of The Tape, Daniel Geale was my height. At the Weigh In he made weight at 157 lbs. The unofficial weight on the next night of the fight he weighed 182 lbs. He had put on 15 pounds.
On Saturday June 6, 2015, I weighed less than 182 lbs. I didn’t look anything like Geale, he didn’t have a pot belly and I sure did. I’m trying to get to 157 lbs and stay below 160 lbs.
My point is here that Geale put on 15 pounds overnight, but it was mostly just water from rehydrating after dehydrating while trying to make weight.
For the record Miguel Cotto only rehydrated to about 160 lbs and was able to knock out the bigger Geale in the fourth round. The better man won, not the bigger one.
How Fast Can You Lose 10 Pounds?
The fastest way to lose weight is to lose excess fluids, but I don’t want to dehydrate myself. I’m not going to take any kind of Laxatives or “Water Pill” where I’m not sure of what chemicals I’m taking or how safe they are. I’m going to eat healthily and natural fruits and vegetables, the best I can buy.
I can lose water weight quickly just by following Eat To Live and include as many Natural Diuretics as I can. Or should I say, Natural Diuretics that I like to eat. I don’t believe anyone should have to eat something they don’t like. I never do.
There are many Natural Diuretics, here are some of my favorites:
- Green Tea
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Brussels Sprouts
I’m not sure of Coffee is diuretic, but I know Green Tea is. With Green Tea, I can add some Lemon juice and increase the effect.
I can also grate some fresh Ginger into 8 ounces of mineral water and add Lemon for a really tasty and naturally diuretic drink.
Apple Cider Vinegar is always a part of My Salad Dressing, but another use is for an upset stomach or indigestion, just add 1 tsp. into 8 oz. of water.
With just Natural Diuretics and Eat To Live, I can eat my fill, exercise only 30 minutes a day or less and drop 8 to 10 pounds in 4 to 5 days. I know it’s not fat, but it is weight. Weight, that will affect how long I can jog without stopping.
So, if three days of cheating can put on 10 pounds, four or five days of eating Healthy and Smart, I can take it off.
After That 10 Lbs Of Water Weight
After about 10 lbs of water weight loss I figure I’m starting to lose fat. The fat comes off slower than the water, but nothing else changes. My workouts remain the same. I still eat my fill of GBOMBS and my Big Salad. I don’t Eat Less and Exercise More, I know that doesn’t work.
If I’m losing one to two pounds a week I’m happy and I think that’s healthy and normal. Eventually no matter how strict you stay on ETL or any weight loss program, you’ll just stop losing weight for a period of time, days or even week. It can be frustrating, but it should be expected. I do.
After being through many cycles of ETL I know what to expect and now I plan for it. Now, when I hit a plateau, I don’t wait I go straight to “Plateau Buster”.
The last time I hit a plateau, I started taking “Plateau Buster” and broke through that impasse and lost almost six pounds in two weeks. That surpassed all of my expectations. I will never be without it again.
